That'S bought our eyes this week, I'm James and with me, is mouth ghetto: James and Richard hello, James this week, we're looking at a legendary Toyota, the next generation of which is lighting up our site. We'Ll talk about new arrivals in the cars guide garage this week and we'll cut catch up with a man, some say a God whose profile has grown exponentially over recent years in this week's must watch so stay with us, but happily we've had some feedback and the Majority of it was about the care use, the rendering of which we discussed and the the potential for that car now Joel, bowed and made the general point. I said wise. Every podcast in living memory been around a yute. You know. Are they really that exciting? Pretty sure there are no more, you took pickups left to talk about other than keep up the good work, guys loving the podcast look forward to them every week, which is brilliant. Now our old mate decor came in and said just look at the numbers and views and comments under the you coasts and they track a track not only in all view audience. So it seems that Utes are a hot topic and that's exactly what it's about you know now you might want to comment on this, but we try and focus on what Evers been pushing people's buttons on the cars guide site during the week to flesh it out A bit more here, yeah and it seems to work.
You know what what's popular on the site tends to be popular in the podcasts. Oh yeah yeah, so that's only get a big thing. Oh I mean you can user. Obviously that do cooks right. They are a bit of a hot topic right now, but in today's, been de cocoa has been right about a lot of things. I'M sure he loves the way you pronounce his name Richard. I believe I'm pronouncing it the right way. Even though he's correcting me, he believes his name, opening Australian accent on it. Richard I don't know be. Do Coco, look up. Australian uh David bits is the kia. Ute looks cute with a k' us white color types just want to youth that takes the majority boxes, all of the current cropper compromised in one way or another, whether it be safety, performance or comfort, so bring on 21 22 he's. Looking forward to the key. Its arrival, prints dog says a pistol used to be official, so he's no longer official. This could be a ring in prints dog but prints dog official, yes, but he's. Now, just Prince Don I'd consider buying a petrol ute from Kia if it had the engine from the stinger now others have mentioned this. Many others mentioned this on long trips. That would still be efficient but have performance that diesels can't match whenever you feel the need. So it will be a pretty exciting car wouldn't with a twin turbo who six under the bonnet aim and Madri says now.
Thank you very much for the effort you're doing I'm following you from Tunisia, even the Mike respects in our country is not the same as yours, but we can find some similarities with some Asian brands so I'm very interested to know more about the new Kia pick Up and look stand by Ayman because we may have just a little tidbit that you'll find interesting and panshin says I'd love to see care you coming to the Greek market too. So we've got we've just added Tunisia and Greece to our lineup of the USA. Germany, New Zealand, Russia and I want to push out out it. Anybody watching all this thing to feedback – and let us know where you are watching all this thing from, but would just be fantastic it's almost like this – is going all around the world or something well that it's called this is this thing called the internet Richard and Why it's a bit like yeah it's a bit like a giant library, all this information in there and you can access anything. You want it's, amazing it's all connected by cables. Isn'T, it yeah, it is string up. Tario, says found. This is the tidbit found a leaks or saying here: we'll have the quote: Ford Ranger rider around 20 21 22. The first rumor in 2017 was that Kia will be using the frame of the Kia mohabbat, which is a large body on frame SUV selling in Korea and Russia.
So that's interesting, I for one you guys may be different. I hadn't heard that so that's interesting. I had heard something about that. You know if it's going to be a proper 4×4 you to does need to have a body on frame, yes, chassis and but I don't know where that ended. I'M, not sure if they're developing their own chassis separate to that. But now do you know anything about that I'll just say in general they'll be trying to make it share as much as possible with other models yeah, but the timing, whether it works for the current Mojave, not sure, and it would be. If it does, it could be paired with the next Mojave yeah that's it and all of caused me to do, is go off and have a look at the Mojave and the latest version of it looks pretty good yeah, the the first so it's a domestic model And into Russia it looks sleek, as so, if they could get the front of that thing onto the you, as well as the underpinnings I think they'd be doing well and for those on YouTube will have a picture of the Mojave after you have a look at Now a New Zealand correspondent wax triple three says that the d max he says: it's, probably the most exciting you to be released in 2020. So far, so you know he's pretty fired up about it. So the you thing look, we we take your point, Joe Barton, but you can see that there's a fair bit of interest from all over the world in Utes and we're kind of reflecting and building on that in what we do in the podcast.
Now then, we move to the i30 sedan now NZ sarge one now i presume this may be. Another kiwi says that i thirty sedan is incredibly horrid. Looking and just has a kind of green faced almost throwing up emoji following it, but it would write, says that 2020, you said cylinder i think he met. Elantra looks amazing, so we've we're always saying how how you know different people have a different take in the way a car looks there. It is yeah, i mean the literal definition of amazing in that Wow it's easing yeah it's it's working mmm look. It is very difficult to make a small sedan look good. I think LD managed to do an excellent job of it with the h3. I think a couple of other manufacturers have done a pretty good job as well. I think no mess they've done a good job of making small sedans but yeah. It seems to be one of those design feats that are almost impossible and a lot of manufacturers spend most of their RampD or make all their D on on hatchbacks. Yes, I know they're gon na steal bit, but then again in the u.s., mr. Danza, we're, really popular theory or America loves me today, yeah and I think, they're. I think Toyota is kind of on the money with having separated the Corolla hatch and the Corolla sedan. They'Re stolen yeah, I bet or they're the same but from a pillar back the sedan sponsor date, and you know in Australia at least the sedan tends to be bought by more conservative buyers.
You know that all the buys it for what it's worth I'm very much in the I think it looks incredibly horrid. Looking I'm, not loving me don't, look at the car, but Terry can n, has chimed in with the conde at the front, looks like it's crossed with a Mondeo, Tesla wreck and the arse end is a bit like a Jag. Besides we'll blend in when all the oldies hit and scrape each other in the carpark, so saying it's irrelevant due to the car park, collisions and in look in fairness Jones. We haven't seen this car in the flesh. Yet no that's, true well let's, say let's. Do no picture judgment I'm, not loving it, but anyway we'll see maybe looking at with black and yellow in New South Wales number plates on the front. Speaking lutely subjective subjective judgements, Meza has Congdon is Chandan on the stinger and says yeah I'm gon na say it. I don't like the way the kia stinger looks face is too elongated and the back is too bubbly. I don't even want to start on the taillights, so he's critiqued it very hard to cook chimed in again. He agrees he's, not a fan, so it is one of those as well isn't it it's going to polarize people, because it's it's different it's quite dramatically different and it needs to be bold to do its job. You know it's absolutely right: yeah, open petal eyes to the care brand that wouldn't otherwise notice and yeah.
You know it was bland and boring. It wouldn't be successful. Absolutely the number of people. I know who don't like cars and do like the care stinger, because they've been noticed. It is the in pretty impressive, really interesting riding with other people. You know sitting in the passenger seat like so. I think I think the design, I think I think you know now you're right. You have to be polarizing. If you want to be noticed – and I think the stinger is definitely there so then I think they've done an intentionally good job of that. Well Luke near so here it comes. I, like the taillights so me to a because I quite like it now under the heading general heading of miscellaneous Russian, you Cobb says: are you guys planning to compare 2020 defender with Toyota's, Prado and or Land Cruiser, and once the defender arrives, he'll reckon that'll be A great matchup – and I I can't, wait to see the defender land here now. That would be a great comparison. Yeah I mean it's yeah, yeah I'd be worried, I'd, be worried, possibly being in the defender, because you know Toyota's got a pretty bulletproof reputation. Although the defender looks, looks like it's got. The goods well, I'd, be I'm, not sure I'd be putting my money on the defender just yet beautifully. Knowing it. The end is gon na provide a great FJ Cruiser option. That means yeah, yeah variance, it's, still a very style driven thing walking into the capability of the Wrangler yeah, but it's obviously moved on from the utilitarianism of the previous one.
You'D have you it? Would you have your money on it being very, very capable off road? I mean which it just has to be sorry much it. No. No, I was gon na say I was gon na, be a bit cheeky and I was gon na say you dropped in the middle of Australia. You can choose the defender in a Prada which would you take great cool great question, maybe that maybe the comment is gon na answer that question well, my name is the structure of our compare, oh and, as always, there's a big difference between capability and ruggedness. Aha right that's right, yes! Well, I mean you could ply that to you good self. There now there's a difference between capability and runner. Tell James your feeling his suit. You matching Richard almost at the moment. Now, all right, I like that mail warned us in the test that we did yesterday for this podcast that he may shave like just so they didn't throw us if he did is gone though he's looked at himself in the mirror. This morning is gunned down. I can't do it. I can't do with them that they'd got to see it totally same it's the same link the hallway rounds. Now I believe you guys voted to keep the beard on the island right. We love the beard, we love the big boy. Baton is one two three he agreed, or it was further to John balance point from last week.
If you guys are handing out Matt Campbell, merch I'm in I'll, take a signed photo and that's he's got 10 by 8 cause. I think he's got a sharp, be ready to go so he'll be signing knives as we speak, so that's great Samuel Baker. Now this was further to TG B's point from last week about going bush to buy a car rather than sticking in a metro area. He said I used a regional dealer to buy a toyota prado. They were much easier to deal with. They were so good there. I take a day trip to them. Each time I need a service hashtag, Hillsville Toyota, so there's a shout out to Hillsville Toyota, which is absolutely great to hear and don't. Think I out of Melbourne know exactly and a nice drive actually to thing is he's from Sydney that's that's around the clock job anyway, to finish off Terry to Ken in chimed in again – and we were talking about the Genesis jad last week and he simply said The GID is sexy as you big boy, with a few different emojis. Now last week there was myself, there was Justin and there was Tom I'm guessing the sexy, big boys Tom. You know: he's got the he's no disrespect to Justin, so Terry can maybe clarify who he was directing that towards. But there you go. Maybe you left the ass off boys. Oh good point that's a very charitable way of thinking about yeah no worries dammit now that's that's, all the feedback.
Thank you very much for all of that. We will move on to the main subject now. It is in fact the Toyota Landcruiser 300 series 2021, and the latest word that we've had about that vehicle is that in other markets it seemingly set for a four cylinder, a 2.8 litre diesel power plant. But Australia is looking like it's lining up for a v6 diesel engine which will be pretty exciting news for land cruiser 3 and 200 series and 300 series fans of which there are many it's, interesting, isn't it because they're still bringing at a hybrid as well aren't. They oh that's only cards, also, yes, nothing official, but yeah. The information is leaked that you know. It'Ll have a petrol hybrid, then at league is that they're gon na put a 2.0 liter turbo diesel out of the Hilux Center and I've always said they are not going to leave us without a worthy replacement for the 4.5 liter twin turbo diesel v8. That is really what that car is all about and it's one word really isn't it it's towing. You know you only need you need the talk of a bigger engine in such a large vehicle that is so often used for towing, yep yep, but also just just general long distance, comfort and crews ability, overtaking ability on the on the open road, yeah, Plus. Also, the you know you, with towing and with carrying loads. You always want to overreach with your equipment so that you don't blow it up it's an understory, again yeah big difference between capable and really suited to the to the job.
Absolutely so this seems like an answer to that. I think but big question mark over the capacity of it so yeah some people are saying 3 litre I'm think it'll be at least 3 3.4 in a hollow yeah, yeah yeah I'd behind eyes. You know we're theorizing. You know twin turbo, twin turbocharged, three and a half litre v6 and I think we're also putting some numbers out there. 200 kilowatts, 650 or Newton meters, as you say, male, yet to be confirmed, but that 650 number would be you'd, think that would get it over. The line in terms of what it might need to do, yeah I'd, be very surprised, went backwards in terms of the outputs. You know. Look at the you know. The range is two liter twin turbo diesel that we all go. Oh it's, only a two litre. It actually produces bigger numbers than 3.2, yet six is the boxes of emissions and fuel consumption. Official fuel consumption figures for Ford, so I would anticipate this is a sensitive in the Toyota. It it's really interesting isn't it because we know how much the landcruiser or how important the landcruiser is to Toyota, especially in Australia. We know how nervous twitter was in terms of gauging opinion about how hybrid will go down in Australia, yeah yeah. We know that the hybrids on the cards, but at the same time we also knew that they wouldn't go hybrid only. They know where they do this, so they are still keeping their loyal fans happy with the you know, with the turbo diesel v6.
At the same time, they're doing what they need to be doing, and that is a dawn. Henley know that the head of the marketing boss at at Toyota, Australia's, said they're still doing the right thing by moving forwards in terms of adopting a hybrid technology and it's. All in line with Toyotas rollout of you know a hybrid of the you know the rep for the hybrid of the Corolla, and there you've got a home rat, so they've made they made a commitment that they will have a hybrid variant of you know, most of Their their models, you know moving forward. So the interesting thing I was going to say. The interesting thing is that the Landcruiser would be a diesel electric, hybrid, that's, that's, potentially what's on the cards, which is a bit different and kind of interesting yeah. I mean what this is: it's interesting, isn't, a big course we're going to see over the next. You know 10, 20, 30 years, but again we're going to see your petrol and diesel engines being you know slowly removed from lineups. You know it's not, for you know ethical reasons, but for you know, restrictions are being put in by legislation legislation. So you can see here that um. This is the beginning of the new age for Toyota, but at the same time they do not want to take one foot out of that time. Capacity that you get with diesels, so I'm actually quite relieved that they're still potentially going to be doing this so yeah.
There was then tayo de Roos as well. I think that they were terrified about what would what a hybrid would do to their audience in terms of Landcruiser sure, Mel Mel over you know my bridge, my money's on petrol. Is it yeah, yeah yeah? I think a pitch will be that much cheaper to put together and also better suited to the Toyota hybrid system, how it comes in and out all the time these are more complicated and generally globally. The hybrid will appeal to some petrol, loving markets, whereas the diesel will appear appeal to us basically well that's, a great point: you raise isn't it because you know when you think about Land, Cruisers passionate following in the Middle East in in other markets around the world. Yes, Australia is pretty significant to that model actually, but it's just part of that puzzle. How do you make it work such a complex task, alright, now that that engine we're theorizing could find its way so say, it's a three and a half liter v6 turbo diesel we've talked previously about the gr Hilux, so the gazoo racing performance version of the Hilux We'Ve also put the case that that engine will find its way into that car and we're, saying that by July of this year the new Hilux will have shown its face will will know what it's like it'll be out there, and we also know that Toyota, Australia, Has registered Hilux gr as a name, so yeah yeah that one, whichever one gr highlights a biggie pardon? Yes, it's, it's critical! You are right, doesn't, sound right, but that's the way they continue their.
So why don't do it so that engine in that you would be pretty special over thought, yeah and yeah? If I can make it if they can make it look the part I reckon they'd be on to a very good team. Absolutely it's gon na have said that that that engines got at least 200 kilowatts 650 Newton meters, Ranger Ranger Raptor at the moments got 157 and 500 Newton, exactly it will stomp all over Ranger Raptor, and what I like about this is that it will start an Arms race with you well, not that there isn't one already. But yes, I am wrong start of the hour. That'S right amirite, agree that's, but is a basic score. Yeah and look it's just gon na it's gon na go up and up and up and up so yeah that that gr Hilux, I think, will be a beast, not liter, v6 diesel. Yes, I think further to hammer rocks enthusiasm for our Bathurst idea, where we take the Utes and they replace supercars, and we have that off road section halfway down and by that straight yeah. I think I think it's got legs for short. What what were you turn? Conrad straight into like a dirt track, we jump, I think we have a raptor GTH, Oh and then probably phases, one two and three and then you know, Toyo Doral up the ante and we'll have a super youth and it'll end up on the front pages of Websites and we'll end up being killed because they're too powerful.
Yes, I would learn what they write. That story. Sadly, no II won't said I would love to see that happen. Yeah look. This Hilux has been sort of calling out for something with you know, more grunt than the current hundred thirty kilowatts in 450 Newton meters, really that isn't were cute and Twitter have squeezed every little bit out of that as possible in terms of in the cosmetic updates. You know with you're broke and, and everything other you know, it's a limited editions, but you can only do so much with stickers and you know you know black plastic bits. So I carried I said current Hilux was introduced in. I want to say 2015, 2015 yeah, 2015, so yeah. So by the time this new one arrives its yeah six five six odd years, so you know Tommy the timings right. They definitely need a big kick along to keep hilux up at the front of that. Pretty ferocious pack yet and, as we said before, Toyota historically has been really reluctant to you know: sandwich things into engine bays. You know well within model lives, but yeah I mean that the eros with that 1.5 liter Avery, you know yeah like that. Just says anything's possible, yeah, yes, and what we expect from the Corolla do ya gr, Corolla, sorry yeah, who knows what I want to know is – is that in the next couple of years, so in the next two years or so we've heard we've heard through the Grapevine that Ford is going to be bringing out if trucks into Australia yeah, which is very, very exciting right hand made in the factory F Truck, Show from the US.
How will this affect what our little dinky youth market, when these monsters appear on our road which you'll wan na highlight you you're, the one that referred to an arms race – and I think you might maybe may be part of the arms race – is just going up. A size so yeah, maybe the the raptor struggles in that segment, but hey we're, gon na Trump, that with an f, 150 yeah and then Toyota comes in with a Tundra or you know, Tacoma or something like that: yeah yeah. What does these adopt those cars? I would you know, put on the bogie, hey hello, look at how successful the Rams have been. Yes, I've already got rammed Silverado board. Yes, Ford is clearly a pain and yeah. I say when I drove past Broadmeadows: three weeks ago, over the weekend there was a car yeah current model. If f, 150 top of the range, I will put a photo in sitting in the carpark left hand drive, but clearly he for evaluation, really that's, not the one we're gon na get, but the really Kate that's fantastic and make it happen for Australia. Yeah I'm. With you Richard that's exciting, I reckon it'd be huge fun yeah. Absolutely. I honestly think that pile axes rangers will be trumped completely by the monster pickups that they're coming there, and I think we could be in the final days of the glory days of highlights and Ranger and yeah bring on our new overlords I'm looking forward to it.
Malcolm James, I don't think it's gon na Trump Hilux for outright sales, but I think it's gon na fill a big hole. Yeah. We people yeah yeah, like spending tens of thousands of dollars lifting their harlock's as Rangers and said to us. You know yes, because, because let's face it, we're in the final days of combustion engines, let's go going, go out with a bang baby, yeah yeah, totally yeah, I don't years final decades yeah it might be closer than we think all right, yeah all right now, Luke Speaking of closer than we think in our garage, which is not close at the moment, although now you're in yours, oh I'm, getting the feeling yeah. This is not my bedroom exactly order. Your old man's garage 14 year olds, bedroom it's the same thing really you've been slumming it. The every man's car you've, been in a Porsche Cayenne, coupe and the S. Bribes, sorry yeah, you drove the choke, the KN coupe a s. How many months ago, oh I don't know I can't I don't launch anyway. I found it very hard to relate to that car. Obviously, not like you. I think it just slips into your lifestyle like a hand in glove well. My point is I'm merely playing catch up to James anyway, okay, so this week, yes, I had the the cane coupe a s which i think is the correct sequencing of them all alone, which I brought home and drove as as permitted under the current restrictions.
So the KN coupe, a s, is the second model from the base of the coupe a range. So I mean for those that don't know: we've had the Cayenne in all its variants and the other brought in the cane coupe a to sit alongside it in the equivalent variants. So the km range is exploded, so they KN s second from the bottom. It has the 2.9 liter twin turbo v6 that is also seen in the Panamera forests and a whole bunch of Audi's. Yes, exactly yep RS 4 RS 5 variants, but it actually makes this parent talk in the Porsches for some reason, but they're sitting beneath the twin turbo v8, the four liter KN coupe a turbo ironically and then below the turbo S e hybrid, which sits at the Top arranged anyway, so the coupe a on the surface. I thought why have they done a coupe, a division of what was already a pretty coupe Hsu, then the KN bus. After looking it on my driveway for a week, it commented me, I think it makes more sense than the regular KN yeah and then it's more Porsche. Like you know, the regulation is a little bit less SUV ish than the norm. I think I'm, never saying it in in the video after launch, that it look it's all about the optics. You know it that that car is very much about making and a visual kind of aesthetic statement as much as it is about how practical the car might be, and I think it looks pretty cool.
Can I just say, can I just say when mal was looking at it in his driveway for a week? Did you just have the dictate exactly I'm sitting like that nice day day, it's, probably the most boring time lapse: video, oh that's, a matter of opinion, James yeah! Well, just you in a bit of a lounge looking at oh wait. This is here. This is serious. Work for a week anyway, yeah so it's it's. If you think about its kind of the same ins with the Lamborghini Aurora see's yeah, they share their underpinnings, but its overall profile is quite close to the Taurus yeah, but with Porsche detailing and it's. I think it's more closely aligned with other Porsches, more traditional porches to look at with that roofline and you lose a bit of weight capacity, but above the belt line. Also, Twitter, noting, if you lose a bit of rear door access as the roofline slopes down, which is fine for people of my height but Richard you might have a problem: hmm, but that's that's, the trade off for the looks you get and I put my three Year old son on the backseat and yeah, you know no worries me loading him, but but also impressively – and this probably goes back to the Volkswagen in the KN. The Beltline is dead flat. So he's, like no worries at all, seeing out from the back seat, which yeah it's pretty as a family car.
I reckon it's brilliant actually in VW Group. Now, when you look across Volkswagen Touareg, you know the Audi. You know q7 a Porsche K anyway and in the Lambo q8 and the Lambo uris, then how offering people in that kind of powerful, large SUV segments and pretty distinct options. I thought oh good point and and Porsche I think, is maturing in its approach to these cars that they were so far out in front we've came in and now they've brought them much of it mai, chan as well that they are making them look more like Porsches, I think you're right they're kind of getting their head around what they need to do to make it distinctively a Porsche mmm, and I think it just fits the evolution of the concept of an SUV as well. You know that SUV really, just as you know, there's a spectrum of weight tip to be an issue, though these days yeah and it's, a very broad spectrum, cool. Alright now look, we will move on and Richard you've not been in a Porsche use behind another kind of car, all together, that's right in, but actually I would say that my Clark car is closer to what a proper pour should be actually has a boxer engine. Unlike a Subaru Impreza it's, the top of the range Impreza it's, a 2.0 – is really good price. 31000 that's, the yep really it's an exceptional Subaru quality I mean for the interior and the cabin.
The only thing is, it looks a lot like a Rex, but with its with a life sucked out of it, um it's the test being a bit over the top, really it's sort of being Richard that's been bit over the top. Really, no look. It'S just been defamed, it looks great. It handles really well. You can definitely feel how well it's inches being tuned to this or upgrade up to this update, but it feels planted it's great to drive the steering feels a little bit artificial but that's. You know that's that's, the fly by wire system updates for 2020 include the new grille and it's got new alloy wheel design. As I said, the suspension has been retuned as well. A new front fog, light design, big boot. We mentioned to get all the cars guide luggage in there. You'Ll see that in the rotators cooking photos of that yep. But apart from that look it's been you know. It'S it's been that it's it's been pretty invisible on the road and that's, mainly because it's the sedan and like we were talking about earlier. I think the the hatchback version of the Impreza just works a lot better from a design perspective, nothing wrong with it at all you get. You know you still get a great boot in the sedan it's very large, but I would personally, we swapped it for us. Hatchback yesterday, Matt Campbell drove that away he's going to be reviewing that one and also be jealous cuz I'm.
The look of that but ya know guys. It'S um it's been it's, been a good car but yeah for the value for money. It'S, absolutely outstanding, absolutely outstanding. General, I was gon na, say a general point, not necessarily around the Subaru Impreza, but just sedan to hatch the the boot might be large, but it's, always the height of that aperture isn't it with a hatch. When you open up the door right up, you can so easily level that's right, so it you're more limited in that litter box shape in terms of what you can shove through rather than a big hatch yeah, exactly you're, not gon na be able to move any Coffee tables in it, but um, let me, but let me just tell you what I did manage to move in it, because I drove it up to Newcastle, even though we're all supposed to be staying at home at the moment, it's really I mean now, was just Packed to the roof with boxes and we needed to rid of them, and so we had to take them to my wife's parents, place in the Subaru Impreza. I managed to put a Malibu board surfboard right: a pedal stock pedestal fan to other fans, a large box of CDs from 1995, a fencing kit with two foils and two months yeah – and this is all in this – you know we're in this incident, so we managed To make it all hang in there I was actually quite impressed so and they came to uni kept the 1996 CDs at home still know what log.
Thank You valid. Oh, I would say 1992 through to 2000, so, okay, a lot of did you have, did you have to cut the surfboard in thirds? No, no! Actually what how I did it was. I opened the boot folded. The seats down, lied, the front passenger seat fall backwards. Yeah and then right across the the side, yeah gotcha, you drove all the way to Newcastle by myself only car on the road. Yes, yes, I will just come in at the end here with the car that I've been driving during the week, which is a Hyundai Sonata. Oh sorry, Santa Fe, v6 active, and so that means it's a three and a half liter v6 8 speed, auto and it's. Two wheel drive so it's, not the all wheel, drive version and 206 kilowatts, pretty high, like 6300 rpm before you're, getting towards peak power and 336 Newton meters, again, 5000 rpm. So all of the kind of go zone is quite high in the rev range, but it's. Forty three thousand five hundred and fifty dollars but I've got to say carplay super easy to use really nice cloth trim. It rides very nicely good, steering and seating position. It picks up nicely in the sport mode. Particular I found it pretty easy to drive one thing: it is very tight in that third row: it's really it's the one that's for the kids only and it's a bit of a Scrabble to get in there, but you do have a sliding 2nd row.
So you can have a negotiation as to how much space you're gon na have in the second and third rows. Malcolm you have another hand up. Have you crunch the fuel numbers yet not that I've got with me. I have, but not that I've got with me right now, so you know keep your eyes peeled, for the review is all I'd say so just very clean because it's a it's, a v6 in your driven. I found it very pleasant. Speaking of around town, just a very pleasant car to drive easy nicely put together, and I think at that you know low to mid 40000 bracket. It has a lot to offer how beautiful is the interior in that car JC? I think it's pretty good, even the I was gon na say: it's cloth trim, but the closet is really nice. It'S got a point of almost plaited it's got a profile to it. It feels nice and it looks good yeah yeah. I mean this. Oh, I think Santa Fe was that new generation Center pay was the you know the turning point for yong dae, where it suddenly it went from being you know, kind of a cheap and cheerful brand to luxury and it's very yeah. It looks good. I think we keep sort of redefining that turning point to what we do: that's the whole circle, really circles, it's, basically treating water, I think back when they when they toured in the gets in well with.
This is pretty car now, but then you know I 45. This is a pretty decent car at midpoint. You know it's a very good point. High 30 was another turning point. They just keep getting better and better with each new model. I love to get so much. I wrote and recorded a song about it. You guys probably don't, know about that. I can play it for you down the line at something. Did you come an LP? No, no, but basically was, could gets you where you're going right and it was it was this in response to a specific Commission Richard or you just did this on spec. This was just myself yeah one more question: do you record a film clip a la Joe exotic, wouldn't matter we might have. It was interesting locations. Osmania yeah, great we've got to bring it to life. We know we're doing it, find it it's on an old fire. Probably a Nokia somewhere all right. Well now we are going to move on to one of their favorite segments. It'S, not the favorite segment mask watch Music, okay, so, first of all we're gon na kick it off with it's, been a little bit of a running story and feelin's been talking about ventilators because of course we're caught in the middle of this. You know blessed virus episode, but Tesla Rotti has reported that Tesla's donated 1200 ventilators to the city of Los Angeles and 40 units to the Elmhurst Hospital in Queens New York, which of course is brilliant.
You know doing that is just great and there are pictures on Twitter, a for Tesla logo stuck to the boxes, but actually they're made by ResMed, which is a company that specializes in these things and there's been a little bit of fuss over the type of ventilator. That we're talking about they're, actually what's called a BiPAP or a BiPAP bi level, positive airway pressure machine. Now, a BiPAP machine it'll set you back around 800, but according to Forbes, there are more than eight million users of this type of unit in the USA alone. Already and ICU grade ventilator can cost as much as 50 grand so sixty thousand dollars more type. Sixty thousand six times more. The US FDA has clarified that CPAP machines, which are usually used to treat sleep apnea, could be used to treat patients with non severe symptoms. So must clarify that it was very important to provide these devices to prevent cases from becoming severe, so just to be clear about the kind of inlet – and I think, Elan still very much intends to devote factory space to producing ventilators. So this is just an initial move on it's, not it's, actually really it's good to see, because Elan was one of the first people to come straight off the bat and say what do you need we'll turn it out Giga factory in New York in Buffalo into You know absolute making factory and we're saying yeah and we've seen the same thing all around the world got yeah GME United States is, is partnering up with a company called vintage solutions and they're going to produce ventilators on you know with them with their designers and Engineers, fiat chrysler and making face masks in Italy and even in Australia, kay heart his big boss, afford in Australia, has come out and said: we've got 2000 designers and engineers in Australia you to the Morison government.
What can we do? We'Re here at your disposal and good to see, people like Ryan Walkinshaw from from Waukesha automotive have also come out and said: we've got 3d printers. What do you need? We'Ve got guys here who are very capable very skilled? We can. We can help out as well. So Australians, coming to the meadow in Erebus and triple eight, oh absolutely, yes, BJ are seeing on a 2 so they're all in diverting it was horses isn't. It they're experts that sort of coming up with something and turning around really quickly they're kind of perfect. For it and they've got nothing else to do. I think the operative. The operative point there is that Triple Eight is always being called Triple: Eight race engineering, so it's it's, not just a race team, relying on others, they engineer stuff and they know how to do it. So it's really telling exactly when when I you know, when an engineering team has, you know less than half an hour to come up with a solution to fix a brake system in a car and then can I get better than the other car better than the Other car they can, they can apply that you know ingenuity, it's engineering, so it's. I like to think this is a you know, a silver lining to what is a pretty dark cloud around us at the moment to see comics doing this and speaking of a bit of humor Elon, also posted on Twitter, a chart that says time spent looking at Exponential graphs and the chart is rising exponentially, which I thought was pretty funny, and so I responded back to that with a picture of world's, most accurate pie, chart and people on YouTube or said, and it's actually a pie and one six years pie.
I have eaten and pie. I have not eaten oh and another another one followed through with percentage of chart which looks like pac man. Okay looks like pac. Man does not look like pac man like that yeah, so they were pretty good and people on YouTube. We always see those now also Reuters has reported that Elon Musk's rocket companies SpaceX, has banned its employers from using video conferencing app zoom. Now a lot of our viewers and listeners are probably using zoom to work from home or connect with others or whatever. Anyway. The call is that there are significant privacy and security concerns according to a memo sandbar Reuters days after US law enforcement warned users about the security of the popular app. The FBI has issued a warning saying that it's it's look it's not end to end encrypted and they discovered a phenomenon known as zoom bombing, where people have just zoomed into school groups, meeting via spoon and join the meeting, so it's certainly not secure and as a Defense contractor SpaceX has been classified as an essential business, so they can no longer use so just what you have for zoom Bonnie, if you're out there. On that app I mean the only thing I mean this is that's a very, very serious situation, because the whole world has changed really really rapidly and we've adopted this technology, which we only used occasionally in the past, but it's never really been vetted. You know seriously and great point: you know: companies which hold United States defense contracts like space X, using a zoom which can be broken into by schoolchildren, who do yeah, definitely that's a good idea not to use it but I'm enjoying at the moment the the files That are appearing on Zoom and Skype, and Google Hangouts, where people are holding company wide meetings that someone goes off to the loo and puts the you know down and their cameras off.
I think I've got the camera off. I'Ve got I've seen that one there's various people that manage to record yes, exactly exactly everyone's nail, will go to every meeting distant cat will close and will close my Squatch with a share price updates. So Tesla share each one, four hundred and fifty four dollars. Will he sell? It was five hundred and twenty eight dollars 16 last week, so it's down seventy four bucks and JC. It was when we're doing the podcast back when, but thank you note before Koran what they feel like forever ago. Like the end of February, it was the seven hundred eight hundred dollars, Oh, is getting towards a thousand dollars, helps it was in the nine hundred dollars brackets, but for says quite rightly, that possible poor one, poor q1 deliveries at four Tesla will be reported later this Month, you'd have to imagine that's the case because factories have been closed and and production capability has been reduced, so it's likely to lower its guidance for deliveries in 2020 to around 200000 rather than 400000 in 2019. So, given little reason for people to buy cars right now, that could be as low as a hundred thousand for the year of 2020, so the Forbes is saying the market will not take. This will resulting in Tesla's what's called PS, multiple falling short. Now that the PS is price to sales, so it's a valuation of a company's share price to its revenue, so there's a metric that a lot of share advisors use it's gon na drop 3.
6 down to about 1.5. So it will not be as easily recommendable as a buy option, so it's tough times ahead, I think potentially for the Tesla advice, absolutely and especially in China as well. When we we know that the Chinese market is really really suffered because of copn 19. We saw the Chinese market dropped by like 80 percent so and I'm reading stories that the Chinese market is Auto, hamper market is having incredible difficulty. Starting up again, I mean rightly quite rightly, people are coming out of you know a hibernation and nobody wants to spend any money. Nobody'S got a lot of money and no one knows you will be button on. The machine is where's where's. The button that starts the parade starts it big red one for off the big one. We'Ve never used it before, but also cry about it that we all know that car manufacturing set up. You know with just in time production that's it and so each little element along that line before you use the factory. So you intricately sort of timed and placed so to start a factory at this scene, you're relying on all the other little bits before totally totally that's, a great that that's, you can't have them popping out the other side of the factory. If nobody's taking the dealerships and selling so well, that is well. Every every link of the chain has we've reconnected, you're, so right, but I'm mouth closed hand up.
I was just gon na say it. We'Re talking about Teslas share pricey. Is anyone aware of any organization that hasn't taken a hit to their share price that's that's totally fair? But I think there are some categories you would have to say that are probably more exposed than others. There are the obvious candidates and then there are some that in the mid ground and some that may even be thriving because of the way things have changed pharmaceutical companies. Maybe I would have thought so. Yes, yeah it's late, yeah that's. What I mean, Oh particularly paper paper products yeah there you go yeah, but look on that note. I think we have reached the finish line. Thank You, Mel. Thank you James and Richard, thank you guys and thanks to our audio visual Wrangler in residence, mr.
