Until they get rid of the CVT, they will have a hard time to make a come back… don’t understand why they do not source a reliable transmission…
@Matt S I have proof that they’re reliable as long as you take care of them. My original 07 Murano is going strong at 201k miles. You all keep regurgitating the same thing over and over. They’ve made major improvements since then.

@JokerG16 I have proof that they r not…..so do tons.of other unhappy customers lol
Once they hit 100k miles you will regret owning it, it’s a money pit. Don’t waste your time and money! Get a Honda or Toyota instead…
Spurs Dynasty73 how manyToyota or Honda do you own after 100k without spending any money?
The Nissan Rogue is one of five all-new models Nissan is preparing to introduce in the next couple years. Are you guys excited for the turnaround of this brand? We’re particularly ready for the all-new Nissan Z, but the Rogue is the one that Nissan sells the most of! Let us know what you think of the new look below.
CVT TRANSMISSION
Henry Espinosa I have a 2015 Nissan Sentra with over 120,000 miles on it. Never had a issue and still runs like new.
@Redline Reviews This Nissan Rogue also known as Nissan X-Trail.
Any possibility of asking your connections if Nissan might offer cooled seats at a later date? I’m surprised they’re not already offering it on the Platinum trim. I really love the new Rogue but have to have my cooled seats! lol
Nissan needs to redesign the Pathfinder and release it asap! 2020 pathfinder looks like it traveled in time from the past… exterior is ok though looking old (aesthetics is subjective) but the interiors and tech.. they are way behind it is just sad since pathfinder was a trendsetter before and was ahead of its time when other manufacturers do not have a good 3 row midsize SUV.
😯 wow the interior is a huge improvement!
Kristiāns Ozoliņš lol no one even purchase Peugeot in North America.
@Uzumaki Naruto if I had to choose between a Nissan or a Peugeot, I’d always pick the Peugeot. Nissans are so boring. The Peugeot 508 says enough.
Uzumaki Naruto it’s like a murano
Some of you idiots don’t realize Americans don’t care about Peugeot, as it’s not offered locally for 30 years in USA. Stop being so obtuse and stick to X-Trail videos. From a British-American citizen.
@Uzumaki Naruto Thank you, but they’re too obtuse to realize they’re commenting on the wrong video.
Having lived in UK and now USA again, I’m more aware of what’s relevant to each market. Seems like some folks have their head in the sand.
Who’s ready for the Lexus reveal 👀
Kristiāns Ozoliņš you watch too much car review videos.
It’s been leaked this morning. The front is cleaner but the back looks meh. It’s a mild refresh for sure. The interior is basically unchanged and it still has the atrocious infotainment system.
Who’s ready for disappointment
Shafin Rehman but at least the screen is a touch screen
Shafin Rehman atleast we get apple CarPlay! Lol
I hate that these headlights are a thing now.
I agree. Terrible design.
I think the Blazer looks the best with this style headlight!
The RAV4 headlights and front bumper looks far more attractive. Combine that with a more powerful engine and a traditional 8 speed automatic over CVT, and RAV4 becomes the no-brainer choice over this Rogue. Shame because the Rogue interior really does look stunning.
Braeton Wilson a CRV is more attractive than your beloved Rav. Out of the 3, I chose the stunning new Rogue
717 flyer definitely and older rolls Royce phantoms
4:05 “CVT Transmission” *clicks away from the video*
JK, but still not longer interested in this vehicle
@Alex Varela Well it’s not like it’s uncommon for Nissan CVTs to go bad. There are lots of cases of people having to replace them at 60k, 90k, etc. Toyota and Honda CVTs might have their quirks, but they’re far better off than Nissan CVTs. It is not hard to find a video of a failed Nissan CVT. Even a quick google search will give you lots of results compared to other brands.
@Anonymous Guy Certainly not CVT transmissions are designed for smooth ride and fuel consumption . I have 2017 Nissan Murano very smooth ride and quick on highways power is more than adequate for me hope this comment helps!
Alex Varela This! Lol
@Alex Varela I said it so many times that most of the people commenting in these comment sections are simpletons or L.C.D. folks, who should be allowed near a keyboard. Physical nor touchscreen.
@Alex Varela I say it’s bad based on previous experience. I got rid of my Maxima last year and I’ll never be going back to a Nissan with CVT
Nissan give us a new damn 🔑 already
@Alex’s Customs
100% agree
Imagine caring about a key fob
A YouTube Channel with no name this comment brought to you by use a normal turn key like a man organization
@Savoy Morgan January 2003 as Intelligent Key in FX45, not 2008.
It’s a solid design from the get go and works well. Get over it. It costs millions to design such items and it works well, so leave it alone and save $$$. Much more important things to worry about.
@A YouTube Channel with no name Quite stupid in fact
*Begs and pleads for Nissan to get rid of the CVT.* Nissan: Here’s a new shifter. Take it or leave it.
@howzit3000 Nope
@Ardae H That’s utter BS, as Honda made that preemptive decision themselves in June 2010, 2.5 years before that facelift came out in December 2012 and even before the 2012 (almost 2011) Civic the following spring.
The critics and consumers had NO INPUT, as they didn’t even see the car until January 2011. By that time, the updated car was almost done being styled (under wraps). It’s even officially reported in a more condensed form by print media.
Do you really understand how the automotive industry works in terms of development timetables and feasibility?
Cars are not designed nor even facelifted in 5 minutes nor 5 months. It takes TIME.
People can be so ignorant of how sh-t works. That aside, CVT has nothing to do with it. It’s the engineering and tuning of the previous iterations which were problematic.
micheal ofori Yea, but made by a different company.
@Jason H What year?
@Joshua K 2016
Kinda look like a Hyundai/kia from the front a RAV4 from the back and a Forrester from the side🤔to me at least…
Agreed!
Yeah, my first thought was: Nissan is doing a Forrester but with Korean styling grafted on to the front.
The front end with the 2 piece headlights remind me if the Juke.
OhJvstin yeah it’s like a pumped up Juke now
judgedred2015 a Juke on steroids
Very glad Nissan is giving their lineup love and the revisions their cars need. Personally the only Nissans I’d own are the GTR and the Z.
I think overall Nissan has done a fantastic job with the redesign on this vehicle, but please Nissan improve on the Achilles heel of the Rogue which is your CVT transmission! And is always great reviews!
I think it’s a good idea if they sell dual clutch instead of cvt
Does this apply to sister company Renault?
@Myles Callaghan not here in America it doesn’t, unless they’re still selling cars here in America?
The current gen CVTs (since 2014) are honestly fantastic, which is why you’ve seen many other manufacturers jump on board. If your evaluation of CVT is from 10 years ago or, worse yet, from “car enthuiasts” reviews, you really need to give them a chance with an open mind.
@PbNewf On Consumer Reports’ recently published list of 10 cars most likely to have transmission failure, going back to 2001 models, *three* 2014 Nissans make the list: 2014 Nissan Versa Note (CVT fails at 55,500 miles to 64,500 miles), 2014 Nissan Pathfinder (50,000 to 75,000 miles), and 2014 Infiniti QX60 (56,000 to 82,000). And the rest of the list is mostly Nissans as well. Basically, these cars are not built to last more than 5 years — if that. Buying one is a complete waste of money.
Is it bad that I would overlook this completely because of the CVT?
Is that you Scotty?
No ways. I sighed and screamed when I saw the words Xtronic CVT…..SMH.
Not really but the general market for these things doesn’t care or even know what that means probably
No Mr. Dolby, it means you’re smart. I was considering waiting for the 2021 Rogue but decided to just go ahead and buy the 2021 Corolla LE. I prefer sedans but Rogue is an exception. However, glad I did buy the Corolla because I trust the Toyota Aisin CVT far more than the Nissan JATCO CVT and Scotty K feels the same.
After getting rid of my Nissan last year, I’ll definitely not be getting another any time soon because of that CVT. So it’s all I need to hear to write off their vehicles
Well I’ve I’ve managed 130,000+ on my current Rogue, BUT I also change the fluid every 30,000 miles.
Richard Lopez 2011.
Gerard Arciga I would drain and refill the CVT now (if it hasn’t been done yet), then I would continue to change every 2-3 years with normal driving habits. It’s an easy quick way to extend the life of your vehicle. Nissan initially recommended longer service intervals when earlier models were introduced years ago and people started to have issues with the fluid over heating causing limp mode (reduced power), fluid breaking down and oxidizing which lead to total failure. Not to mention many earlier models didn’t have a fluid cooler so the fluid just didn’t hold up in hot situations.
@Miguel Ircontar lol you should not need a new transmission after only 20k miles of driving…do your research its a common issue for Nissan transmissions
@Gerard Arciga but when you think about it driving only 53000 miles without a problem shouldn’t mean you are considering yourself lucky
@DominicanRocker1955 Source?
after all the heavy criticism on their CVTs it’s just mind blowing they’re still using it
Does this apply to sister company Renault who uses CVTs on models like the Clio?
If they must use a CVT for competitive fuel economy figures, at least use a reliable CVT like the Aisin CVT in my gorgeous Blueprint 2021 Corolla LE sedan with the premium black diamond quilted fabric cloth seats. Why use the same unreliable JATCO CVT on a brand new redesigned Rogue? Makes no sense!
You don’t know anything about cars. Nissan has the best cvt in all class. New automobiles equipped with CVT Edit

@Don J stop posting this trash. You have no idea about e-CVT vs CVT.
Don J lol Nissan does not have the best cvt, that goes to Toyota.
Cvt? Say no more, I’m out. They aren’t listening
@Denis Jerkovic you got lucky
This idea that a manufacturer selling hundreds of thousands of family SUV’s a year should listen to the .001% of “car enthusiasts” on the internet when making decisions is honestly laughable.
I work in the car industry and promise you that 99% of customers don’t know what a CVT is and honestly enjoy the drive more when they drive it.
This is like people yelling about Nissan discontinuing a vehicle like the XTerra because “we love it” but nobody buys it. They are running a business not an art gallery.
@Chr15Payne no we won’t, they came out in 2014.
PbNewf well its not the 0.001% though. Their sales number reflect this. Down nearly 10% across both of their brands. I didnt ask for more performance. I’m asking for better reliability. My brother had the misfortune of owning 2 nissans because of my dad and both have been literal money pits. If i wanted performance i’d be screaming for a new Z car instead of their transmission choice.
PbNewf you’re 100% right I actually owned a 2000 X-Terra until 2005 when I got a Pathfinder that I still drive to this day and as much as I dislike the current pathfinder the truth is that it drives much better than my 2005.
I just hope the new model looks boxy like the Telluride most people don’t need a body on frame SUV’s.
Nissan has been absolutely Killing it lately!
And by “it” I mean any interest in their vehicles.
Lol! True.
I was given a 2019 as a rental, man that CVT really sucks, everything else was good
Don J wut
Joshua K most, if not all…..CVTs suck. I was not particularly referring to “just” Nissan’s
@Don J No, you are WRONG. You mixed CVTs and e-CVTs, which are completely different. Any Toyota hybrid with e-CVT is wonderful, reliable and will last a very long time. Jatco CVTs used in Nissans are garbage.
CVT comments!!! My 2019 Rogue”s 170 hp CVT felt superb peppy than 2020 CRV”s 190 hp CVT and even latest Toyota’s CVT.Jatcos CVT is currently best in the market.Not sure abt Subaru’s CVT though.
@Don J only the Camry hybrid models have a cvt (eCvt). the i4 and v6 models use an 8-speed automatic.
How did this style of headlight manage to become a trend, when everybody hated it when the 2014 Cherokee first came out?
Thank you! I asked my self the same thing…
The interior looks much better than RAV4
Toyota isnt the best at interiors
