That 315 hp engine should be a shoe in for the USA… There has to be emissions problems with getting it certified for the USA. Because we like power here.
GTAYLOR1972 Reliability in the US market is a big concern. It’s hard to make a vehicle with a 72 month warranty last in a market that can go from Barrow, Alaska in dead of winter to Death Valley in the heat of summer and 100ft below sea lever to 13,000 feet above.
They are not going to do anything to encroach Audi sales. If VW brought higher performance models to North America (Tiguan, Arteon, Sportwagen, Passat, etc.), it would cannibalize Audi Q3, Q5, SQ5, A4 Allroad, S5, etc. Further, VW’s best automobiles (Sportwagen R; Golf Alltrack; Passat Alltrack; Toureg) are sold in European markets because Americans simply don’t buy wagons or two row SUVs, and no American is willing to front >$50K on a VW. Therefore, the U.S. will never see anything premium from VW.

Great info about the Tiguen. That is a nice looking small SUV. I like the exterior look. To bad VW is bringing the 315 HP engine to the U.S.
It’s great looking, but the US needs the short wheelbase. I recently bought the Volvo XC40 Polestar because the Tiguan is too big.

everyone i know has regretted owning a VW past its warranty with the exception of my coworker who still has his diesel jetta manual transmission.
I still love my 2019 se 4motion…….Any tire’s your Recommend for the tiguan
