What has changed it's? What hasn't the new brz is, the same lightweight sports coupe. We know and love, but it's got a little more style, a little more tech and even a little more power under the hood. The new brz has a 2.4 liter boxer 4 engine, making 228 horsepower and 184 pound feet of torque, which are increases of 23 horsepower and 28 pound feet over the old car's 2 liter engine. A 6 speed manual transmission with a short throw shifter is standard, but you can also opt for a 6 speed automatic with a sport mode that will automatically rev match on downshifts, just like before. The brz uses, rear wheel, drive and thanks to stiffer chassis components and five different traction control settings. This little coupe should not only be more agile, but you should definitely be able to drift it. The updated styling is really no better or worse than the old brz, but we like the smooth surfacing and the compact rear end. The base brz premium will roll on 17 inch wheels while the limited will have 18s, both of which will come wrapped in 2, 15. Section tires all told the brz is only ever so slightly heavier than its predecessor with the base car tipping the scales at just 2815 pounds step inside and you'll see new front chairs, as well as two small seats in the back that are probably better used for Carrying backpacks than actual humans, thankfully those rear seats fold down allowing longer items to pass through from the trunk.
The big news inside is the 7 inch reconfigurable gauge cluster, with a large tachometer in the middle and all sorts of driving data on either side move over to the dashboard and you'll find an 8 inch touchscreen running subaru, starlink infotainment system and if that's, not your Jam both apple carplay and android, auto are standard official pricing and fuel economy. Data are still tbd right now, but expect the 2022 brz to start in the mid 25 000 range and crest 30 grand all loaded up production starts in japan next year, with the first cars hitting u.s dealers in the fall.
