The Seed of a Dream
It all began as a mere seed of a dream, planted years ago in the depths of my mind. I yearned for a true sports car experience, a machine that would ignite my passion for driving like never before. For the longest time, I had been cruising around in Teslas, magnificent vehicles that sparked my fascination with cars in the first place. There’s no denying their astonishing speed and power, making them impeccable choices as daily drivers. However, they lacked the essence of a genuine sports car.
A World of Possibilities
And so, my quest for the perfect sports car took shape. Countless hours were spent pondering and exploring the vast landscape of automotive wonders. I found myself drawn towards a 2024 Porsche 911 992 generation Turbo S—an embodiment of speed, elegance, and raw power. This was the vehicle that would fulfill my desire to immerse myself in the world of true sports cars.
Electric Dreams
In the realm of electric vehicles (EVs), I often find myself discussing how certain car types lend themselves perfectly to an electric transformation. Take, for instance, the luxury sedan—a pinnacle of comfort, serenity, and swift acceleration. It is no surprise that such a vehicle would lend itself flawlessly to the electric domain. The hushed whispers of an electric luxury sedan evoke a sense of calm, like gliding through the streets on a gentle breeze.
The Call of True Performance
However, as much as I adore the harmony of electric power in a luxury sedan, my heart longed for a different sensation. I craved the growl of a throaty engine, the adrenaline surge as acceleration thrusts me into a world of exhilaration. It became clear to me that sports cars, with their aggressive design and unyielding performance, were the epitome of driving ecstasy.
A Daily Driver’s Delight
But this Porsche Turbo S is not purely a beast of the track. It embodies the duality of both a ferocious predator and a reliable companion for daily commutes. Its responsive handling and refined features make it a joy to navigate through the bustling city streets. Even in congested traffic, I find solace knowing that I am cocooned within the embodiment of automotive excellence.
As I embark on this new chapter of my automotive journey, my mind races with anticipation. The 992 generation Porsche 911 Turbo S symbolizes the fulfillment of my automotive dreams—a machine that will both surprise and captivate me with each twist of the steering wheel. It is an ode to the passion that lies within me, an ode to the undeniable allure of sports cars.
The allure of an electric car
The smoothest, the most comfortable, has all kinds of other benefits: traction, wise and it’ll probably be quicker, and yes, it will also be expensive, so that’s a perfect car to go electric. I still have the Rivan R1T. That, to me, is an awesome vehicle, as well as someone who doesn’t do any Towing, and it’s great that it’s electric. Sports cars, though, are not yet one of those things.
The debate in my head
We do see huge horsepower numbers and they’re incredibly fast in a straight line, but that always comes with a lot of extra weight and so turns out with an actual sports car on the mind, couldn’t really be electric. Yeah, so for years, this is like the debate in my head. Like, I’ve played out in 2021, incredibly fast, super powerful, and to me, that was enough fun in the daily driver to still feel kind of sporty. But still, in the back of my head, like I tested the Tian, there are a bunch of other sports cars you’ve seen me review on this channel. The whole thing is yeah, I think there’s a little bit more to it.
A turning point on my 30th birthday
And then I turned 30, and so I kind of had like an incentive to do something fun. I guess I don’t know. Bottom line is I drove a couple of Porsches, and uh, I’d never driven, well, I drove a Tyan and a 911 Carrera T briefly, but never the 911 Turbo S.
In this perplexing journey of finding the perfect daily driver, I pondered over the allure of electric cars and their undeniable benefits. The smoothness and comfort they offer, along with their impressive traction, make them an enticing option. However, their expensive price tag often raises eyebrows. Yet, a perfect opportunity to go electric presented itself with the Rivan R1T, an exceptional vehicle that perfectly suits my needs as someone who doesn’t engage in towing activities.
Meanwhile, sports cars have always fascinated me, with their immense horsepower and blistering straight-line speed. However, the additional weight that comes with such power detracts from the experience of driving an actual sports car. This internal debate has been ongoing in my mind for years. I had experienced the thrill of a 2021 Tyan, which was incredibly fast and powerful, providing enough excitement to satisfy my desire for a sporty daily driver. But still, a lingering thought persisted – the Tyan was just one of the numerous sports cars I had tested and reviewed for this channel. Could there be more to the story?
Then, a significant milestone arrived – my 30th birthday. It served as a catalyst for me to seek something exciting and enjoyable. I found myself behind the wheel of several Porsches, each offering a unique driving experience. However, one car remained elusive – the 911 Turbo S. Its allure and appeal had always fascinated me, and I yearned to experience the exhilaration it promised.
And so, my new daily driver entered the picture. The 911 Turbo S, a true embodiment of power, speed, and performance. Its electric counterpart, while impressive, failed to capture the essence of a sports car. The
The Hesitation
When I embarked on the journey to find my new daily driver, I knew I had to be thorough. After all, it was going to be a significant purchase, and I didn’t want any surprises. So, like any sensible buyer, I dove headfirst into the world of car reviews.
I consumed every single review ever made about this particular car, the generation 992 Turbo S. Blog posts became my bedtime reading, and online forums became my go-to source for information. However, instead of being reassured by the overwhelmingly positive comments, I found myself feeling a bit unsettled.
The Perfect Car?
Many people claimed that this car was perfect. In fact, some even went as far as calling it the best car ever made. But to me, such high praise was perplexing. How could a car be so flawless? What were they comparing it to? These questions swirled in my mind, raising red flags of skepticism.
Putting the Doubts to Rest
Despite my reservations, the seed of curiosity was planted. It grew steadily over the years, and finally, when I turned 30, I decided to take the plunge. I acquired my new daily driver, the much-talked-about 992 Turbo S.
A Stroke of Luck
Now, the Porsche enthusiasts among you may wonder if I customized my car or if it was a showroom model. The truth is, I did consider building a custom configuration and waiting for it to be ready. However, fate had other plans for me. Just as I was contemplating my options, a brand new, fully-loaded model appeared in inventory.
Bathed in Mystery
This car, straight from the dealership in Boston, had an aura of allure. Its sleek, all-black exterior exuded an air of authority. I couldn’t help but admire the heavy use of carbon fiber accents, giving it an edgy, menacing look.
The Unveiling
And so, my new daily driver arrived. It stood before me, a symbol of power and engineering excellence. Behind the wheel, I felt a surge of anticipation. How would this extraordinary car handle on the roads? How would it make me feel?
Exploring the Uncharted Territory
As I embarked on my first drive, a mix of awe and trepidation washed over me. The reviews had painted such a remarkable picture, but now it was my turn to experience it firsthand. Would the smoothness be too monotonous? Would the perfection become mundane?
A Journey Begins
And so, my journey with this remarkable machine unfolds. Each day presents new discoveries, new adventures. The conundrum of unparalleled excellence and the fear of it becoming ordinary intertwine, creating a perplexing cocktail of emotions.
This car, my new daily driver, defies easy definition. It challenges my preconceptions and keeps me on my toes. It is a constant reminder that perfection can be both exhilarating and unnerving. As I navigate the roads ahead, this enigma on wheels propels me forward, ready to unravel its secrets one drive at a time.
The Versatile Daily Drivable Sports Car
My new daily driver is equipped with the arrow kit and sport exhaust, making it one of the most impressive sports cars out there. It was a one-way flight up to Boston where I picked it up, and the first thing I did was take it on a 200-mile road trip back to the studio. Now, I’ve had plenty of time to really get to know this car, putting over 12,200 miles on it already.
A Well-Rounded Performer
This car is undeniably good. In fact, many people believe it to be one of the best sports cars ever made. It’s not the absolute best in any one category, but it excels in every aspect. It has earned its place near the top of the list of versatile, daily drivable sports cars in the world.
A Balance of Speed
While it may not be as fast as the Plaid, or the McLaren 765 LT, or the Ferrari sf90 or 296 GTB, it still holds its own. This car may not be the absolute fastest, but it certainly ranks a solid 9 out of 10 in terms of speed. It offers an exhilarating driving experience without compromising in other areas.
Balancing Comfort and Performance
When it comes to comfort, this car may not match the luxury of a Bentley or a Rolls-Royce, or the extravagance of other high-end models. However, for a sports car, it still holds a strong rating of 9 out of 10. It strikes a balance between providing sporty performance and a comfortable driving experience.
A Versatile Choice
Ultimately, this car’s greatest strength lies in its versatility. While you can find cars that are a perfect 10 in one particular aspect, they often fall short in other departments. With my new daily driver, I have a well-rounded vehicle that performs at a high level across the board.
The Unique Design
The exterior of my new daily driver showcases an impeccable design that sets it apart from other cars on the road. Painted in jet black metallic, the car exudes an aura of sophistication. However, what makes it truly special is the stealth ppf covering, giving it a satin matte finish. This combination of satin black and glossy black creates a striking contrast that adds to the car’s allure.
A Custom Touch
One aspect that I particularly adore about my Turbo S is the custom two stripes on the front hood. This little detail, a collaboration between me and APC, adds a touch of uniqueness to my car. The glossy black stripes break up the black body color in a way that is both sporty and aggressive. It perfectly complements the overall design and enhances its visual appeal.
Exclusive Wheels and Brake Calipers
To further elevate the aesthetics, I opted for turbo exclusive wheels that have been powder coated in black. These wheels not only enhance the sporty look of the car but also add a sense of exclusivity. Paired with the glossy black stripes, they create a cohesive and attention-grabbing appearance.
Not stopping at the wheels, I also decided to paint the brake calipers. Now, the bold red brake calipers pop against the black backdrop, serving as a subtle yet powerful detail that underlines the performance capabilities of the car.
Balance of Speed, Comfort, and Drivability
My new daily driver strikes a balance between speed, comfort, and drivability. While it may not possess the incredible speed offered by some high-performance cars, it doesn’t compromise on other aspects. Its weight and handling have been optimized to ensure an exhilarating driving experience. On the other hand, the car provides exceptional comfort, making it suitable for everyday use.
However, it is important to note that in the pursuit of a perfect blend, there are sacrifices to be made. Reliability may be compromised to achieve the desired daily drivability. Nonetheless, these compromises are worth it, as my new car excels in multiple categories, earning outstanding ratings across the board.
A New Benchmark
In my opinion, this car sets a new benchmark for both gas cars and sports cars. Its exceptional design, performance, and versatility make it a standout choice in its category. Moving forward, I plan to review similar cars that fall in the same league as my Turbo S, as it has become the standard against which I will assess their features and capabilities.
Exterior Design
The color of my new daily driver may not align with the traditional preference of Porsche lovers. Instead of the usual yellow, I opted for a more understated and stealthy look – a glossy black satin finish. Not everyone may appreciate this choice, but I find that it adds a unique touch to the car. As I examine the exterior of the vehicle, I notice the abundance of carbon fiber accents, such as the mirror caps and interior details. The combination of gloss and satin black, along with the carbon fiber elements, creates a visually appealing aesthetic.
Rear Engine Configuration
Contrary to popular belief, my new daily driver is a rear-engine car, not a mid-engine one. This distinction provides a fascinating perspective on the vehicle’s design. With the engine positioned at the rear, there is some space behind the driver’s seat. Remarkably, the seats can be folded down, transforming into a shelf. This feature allows me to accommodate items like golf clubs, demonstrating the practicality of the car despite its sporty image.
First Impressions
Although this article will not serve as a comprehensive review, I have had the opportunity to spend 12,200 miles with the car. This initial experience highlights several noteworthy aspects. One particular area of interest is the car’s technology, which is surprisingly lacking. While I expected a more advanced system, the tech features in my new daily driver do not meet my expectations. It leaves me wondering if more could have been integrated into the vehicle’s design.
The Stealthy and Tech-Savvy Daily Driver
The first thing that stands out about my new daily driver is its impressive rating of 9.5 out of 10 on almost every aspect. While it may not be the loudest car on the road, I find solace in its subtlety. The tech features of this car are truly remarkable.
A High-Resolution Screen and Carbon Fiber Shelf
The front screen of this car is a sight to behold. With its wireless carplay or Android auto capabilities, it boasts a large, high-resolution display that looks absolutely fantastic. Adding to its appeal, there is even a carbon fiber shelf to assist with organization. It seems that many people would find this feature satisfactory.
A Well-Built Interior and Limited Phone Space
The interior of this car is exceptionally well-built, surpassing the quality of any other car I have encountered. This alone makes it one of my favorites. However, I found that there are only two USBC ports and no wireless chargers for phones. Additionally, there is not much space to place your phone. Consequently, I resorted to keeping it in my pocket.
Adequate 360 Camera with Some Drawbacks
While the 360 camera in this car is decent, the reverse camera leaves much to be desired. It suffers from significant distortion and tends to get dirty easily when driving on dusty roads. Although this may seem like a minor issue, it is worth noting.
Lack of Phone Key and Limited Functionality
One peculiar aspect of this car is the absence of a phone key. Instead, you have to carry a fob, which some people may adore for its shiny allure. Personally, I had grown accustomed to not carrying anything in my left back pocket for years before owning this car. Moreover, the phone app for this vehicle does not offer much functionality. It merely displays the history of trips and lacks the option to preheat the car.
In conclusion, my new daily driver may not be the loudest or most extravagant car, but it certainly offers a unique blend of stealthiness and remarkable tech features. With its high-resolution screen, carbon fiber shelf, and well-built interior, it provides a pleasurable driving experience. However, the limitations in phone space, reverse camera quality, and phone app functionality are aspects that need improvement. Overall, this car delivers in terms of style and technology, making it a formidable option for daily commutes.
Installing a Dash Cam
One thing that struck me about my new daily driver was the absence of a built-in dash cam. Considering how expensive this car is, I felt that a dash cam would be a valuable addition. So, I went ahead and had a dash cam installed both at the front and the back of the car. The dash cam I opted for is pretty large in size but of good quality. It’s a Sare u3000, and it sits exactly where I wanted it to be.
Lack of High-End Tech
In the world of sports cars, high-end tech features are not commonly found. This is why I find it necessary to review the technological aspects of my car. Although my new daily driver lacks some cutting-edge tech, it still manages to score around eight or nine out of ten. The driving experience, though, is where this car truly shines.
Incredible Driving Experience
The main reason I chose this car is because of its exceptional driving performance, and I can now confidently say that the people were right. It drives incredibly well, earning a solid nine out of ten in terms of speed, and a staggering nine and a half out of ten for its handling. It feels like it’s gliding on rails, thanks to its all-wheel drive system. Currently, I have winter tires on the car, but I am eagerly looking forward to swapping them out for the summer tires when the weather in Jersey gets hotter.
A New Benchmark
After experiencing the driving performance of my new daily driver, I can say without a doubt that it has become my new benchmark for sports car excellence. Its speed and handling capabilities exceed my expectations, making it a dream to drive.
Future Car Review
Now, I know you might be wondering when I will be doing a detailed review of this car, and the truth is, I’m not entirely sure yet. It will most likely happen sometime within the next year, but the exact timing is still undecided. Rest assured, though, that I plan on giving a comprehensive review of this outstanding vehicle.
Stock or Modified?
When it comes to cars, I always find myself in a bit of a dilemma. Do I keep it stock or do I go for modifications right away? With my new daily driver, I’m leaning towards keeping it stock, at least for now. There’s something about the car in its original form that I absolutely love. But at the same time, I can’t help but wonder if it could be a little bit quicker on the high end.
A Refresh on the Horizon
Rumors have been swirling about a potential refresh for the 992 model. And not just any refresh, but one that might include a hybrid option. It’s exciting to think about the possibilities that a new and improved version of my car could offer. Will it be amazing and super different? Only time will tell. I’m definitely curious to see what the future holds for this model.
Downsizing to One
I used to be the proud owner of two daily drivers – my new car and the Plaid. But now, I find myself questioning the need for two. It’s a good question – what will happen to the Plaid? Well, I’ve made the decision to sell it. And where better to sell it than on Cars and Bids, the ultimate online marketplace for enthusiast cars.
Cars and Bids: The Ultimate Online Marketplace
Cars and Bids, founded by fellow YouTuber Doug DeMuro, has always stood out to me as the place to go when buying or selling enthusiast cars. The fact that sellers can list for free and the buyer fee is capped at $4,500 gives me a sense of security and trust in the platform. I’m confident that Cars and Bids will connect me with the right buyer for my Plaid.
In conclusion, the journey with my new daily driver is full of uncertainty and excitement. Will I keep it stock or go for modifications? What will the future hold with the potential refresh? And what will become of the Plaid? Only time will tell, but I’m grateful to have Cars and Bids as a trusted platform to help me navigate through these decisions and connect with fellow car enthusiasts.
The Unique Appeal of My New Daily Driver
The Intriguing Customization
The fun part is, I’m not sure sure if more people will want this car because it’s mine, or because it was customized a little bit. It’s got the stealth ppf over the top, which adds to its allure and gives it a sleek and mysterious look. This one-of-a-kind feature makes it stand out from the crowd, sparking curiosity and turning heads wherever it goes.
The Exceptional Performance
Not only does my new daily driver boast an eye-catching customization, but it also possesses impressive performance upgrades. Equipped with the carbon ceramic brakes from Tesla’s Track Pack, this car delivers unmatched stopping power, enhancing the overall driving experience. It’s also one of the first plaids ever, representing cutting-edge technology and pushing the boundaries of speed and acceleration.
The Emblem of Rarity
As I proudly drive this car, there is no doubt that its original 3D badge adds to its charm. This emblem symbolizes its exclusivity, making it highly desirable among car enthusiasts. Owning one of the few vehicles with this distinctive badge sets it apart from the masses, underscoring its uniqueness and desirability.
The Impressive Mileage
Contrary to what one might expect from a car of this caliber, I have already accumulated an astonishing mileage of approximately 44,000 mi through daily driving. This speaks volumes about its durability and reliability, as it has withstood the test of time and remains in excellent condition. The fact that it has been driven extensively with no signs of wear and tear further adds to its appeal.
An Irresistible Offer
Considering its remarkable features and remarkable sales rate of 85, I am offering this car at no Reserve. This enticing proposition means that interested buyers can seize the opportunity to own this exceptional daily driver without any reserve price limitations. The lack of bidding restrictions makes this offer even more enticing and brings added excitement to potential buyers who want to get their hands on a truly remarkable vehicle.
In conclusion, my new daily driver combines unique customization, exceptional performance, and an emblem of rarity, making it a truly remarkable vehicle. With an impressive mileage and an irresistible offer, the appeal of this car transcends expectations. Whether it’s the allure of its customization or the understanding of its durability, this daily driver stands as an exceptional automotive masterpiece.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my new daily driver presents a captivating sight with its glossy black satin finish and carbon fiber accents. The rear-engine configuration adds a unique touch, providing room behind the driver’s seat and the flexibility to fold the seats down for extra storage. Although the car’s technological features may not be as advanced as anticipated, it does not take away from the overall appeal of this remarkable vehicle. As I continue to spend more time with my new daily driver, I look forward to exploring its full potential and providing a comprehensive review in the future.
