The MG4 features ice fix in the two outer rear seats, which are easily accessible through the boot. The seat fabric has a large velcro flap that hides the anchors, making them simple to connect to. The top tether anchorages are located on the back of all three seatbacks, ensuring a secure installation.
Surprisingly, the MG4 can accommodate three in-cure child seats in the back seats, which is excellent news for families with multiple young children. This level of flexibility is rare in many vehicles, making the MG4 stand out in terms of practicality and convenience.
We tested the car with the Infas Secure Adapt rear-facing capsule and the Infas Secure Momentum forward-facing seat. With the rear-facing capsule, we were able to have a 180 cm driver in the front or a tall passenger without compromising the child’s safety or comfort.
Pram in boot test
The storage space in the back of the MG4 is impressive. It offers ample room to accommodate a pram or stroller, making it convenient for parents who need to carry extra equipment on their journeys. The boot is spacious and well-designed, allowing easy access to the storage area.
Storage and amenities
The MG4 provides additional storage options to cater to the needs of parents and their young children. The back of both front seats features mat pockets that can hold and conceal an iPad, ensuring little ones are entertained during the ride. Above the mat pockets, there are two small pockets that are perfect for storing phones and other small items.
The door bins in the back are also well-designed to hold sippy cups or bottles for children. However, larger water bottles may not fit in these compartments. In the central console box, there is a USBC socket for charging devices, along with a small pocket for storing phones or other accessories.
The MG4’s attention to detail in terms of storage and amenities shows that it was designed with families in mind. These features enhance the overall convenience and functionality of the car, making it a smart choice for parents.

There are two cup holders in the central console, perfect for holding either reusable or disposable coffee cups. Behind them, there is a spacious storage tray with a retractable lid, located in front of the rotary dll gears. Additionally, the front console features a phone charging pad and USB and USBC sockets. However, the central console box is relatively small in size. On the other hand, the glove box is quite spacious and can comfortably hold a wallet, iPad, and the car’s manual. Moreover, the door bins in the front provide ample space for a refillable water bottle and an iPad.
In-Car Technology
The media system in the 2023 MG4 is both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly. It features a modern design with a user-friendly interface, making it easy to navigate. While this feature is convenient, it can be challenging to use while driving. Additionally, all car settings including sound controls can be accessed and adjusted through the media screen. The inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto further enhances the connectivity options of the vehicle.

When it comes to child seat installation, the 2023 MG4 may not be the most suitable choice. The absence of air vents in the rear compromise the comfort of little passengers. However, the vehicle does offer safety features and meets the necessary regulations for child seat installation. Let’s shift our focus to the boot space of the MG4. The boot opens manually, and we’re here to find out just how much it can accommodate. In its empty state, the boot is spacious enough to hold 10 shopping bags. Alternatively, it can accommodate a twin side-by-side pram and one shopping bag, a single pram and one shopping bag, a compact stroller and five shopping bags, or even a small dog.
Gifle Wagon Testing
To further test the versatility of the MG4’s boot space, we have the new Gifle Wagon from Infog Group. This 6-in-1 stroller offers various configurations, making it an ideal test subject.
In the quick fold position, with the Adap More infant capsule installed in the car, the Gifle Wagon fits perfectly, allowing for a comfortable and secure installation. Without any shopping bags, there is still plenty of room left.
In the full fold position, again with the Adap More infant capsule in place, the Gifle Wagon can accommodate four shopping bags. This highlights the adaptability of the boot space to carry both the stroller and multiple shopping items.
With the seat of the Gifle Wagon in the full fold position, we can fit three shopping bags alongside it. This configuration is useful for those times when you need to carry additional items in addition to the stroller.
Lastly, the Jer Wagon cart, another product from Infog Group, fits comfortably with two shopping bags, and it can handle up to 60 kilograms of cargo inside. This adds yet another option for users to transport their belongings conveniently.

The cheapest battery has a range of 350km, while the most expensive one has the largest battery and a range of 530km. One notable feature of the MG4 is its quick charge time of just 26 minutes to reach 80% capacity.
Driving Experience
Behind the wheel, the MG4 offers a delightful driving experience. The cabin is light and comfortable, with excellent visibility from all angles. Parking is made easy with the help of a rearview camera displayed on the media screen. The steering is light and responsive, making it ideal for maneuvering through tight school and supermarket car parks. While some interior features feel budget-friendly, the steering wheel provides a pleasant grip, adding to the overall driving experience. The MG4 is particularly well-suited for city driving, thanks to its nimble handling and compact size.
Friendly for Families
The MG4 proves to be a great choice for families, with its spacious five-seater layout. Surprisingly, it can accommodate three INF-secure child seats across the back seats, which is excellent news for larger families. Additionally, the boot is capable of holding a twin pram or even a versatile 6-in-1 wagon, providing convenient storage solutions for parents on the go. Whether you’re transporting children or bulky baby gear, the MG4 proves to be a practical option.
